We had a very warm welcome and instructions for visiting the Tatacoa desert. The hotel is the most clean space we’ve ever encountered in Colombia. It was so good maintained. We loved the swimming pool to cool down. Breakfast were fresh eggs, juice, hot chocolate, coffee and some fruits. Room was spacious, good (cold) shower. Our room was also daily cleaned. We could also park the car safely inside. It’s only a 10min drive to visit the desert. Restaurants and small shops are within 5minutes by foot. Excellent location.

Where to start... this place is the highlight of our trip across colombia! The accommodation is beautiful, imagine waking up to a desert breeze, hearing horses gallop by, listening to the sounds of birds as you lay in bed. Breakfast was delicious and accompanied by humming birds next to the table in the trees. Dinner was one of the best beefsteaks I've ever had, the portion was generous and just utterly delicious. There's a spot to charge your electronics, a gang of friendly dogs, games, lots of places to chill, a pool and lots of flowers growing all around. It's paradise! The staff went out of their way to make our trip memorable and they are just fantastic. Seriously, you cannot get a better location and a better stay in the area than this place!!!!

Dario, the host, went above and beyond for us and was available for any questions and advice for anything you could want. It is a bioreserva, so you should expect a dry toilet, a wonderful pool (inevitably with bugs), and limited appliances as the whole site is run on solar energy. If you are happy with these things as I was, the place is beautiful and peaceful. Bikes are available to rent as well but there is plenty around the location to keep you relaxed and occupied as well.

As a Parisian who travels extensively and tends to have high standards, I have to say: Estrella Casa del Angel is an absolute masterpiece in the middle of the Tatacoa Desert! From the moment we arrived, Lucila and her family welcomed us with warmth and care that made us feel like we were part of their home. Their kindness and attentiveness are unmatched – they truly go above and beyond to ensure every guest feels special. The property itself is stunning. The rustic yet elegant design perfectly complements the natural beauty of the desert. The pools (yes, plural!) are an oasis of relaxation, and floating in the cool water while surrounded by endless desert landscapes is an experience I’ll never forget. This is the perfect spot to disconnect from the chaos of everyday life. No distractions, just peace, tranquility, and the magic of the desert. The attention to detail, from the pristine cleanliness of the rooms to the thoughtful amenities, speaks volumes about the love and care Lucila and her family pour into this place. If you’re looking for a unique, soul-soothing getaway with a touch of magic, Estrella Casa del Angel is it. Gloria and her family were the most welcoming people we met at Colombia. The place is extremely clean and comfortable, exceeding all expectations. Shower is great, a fan is enough to sleep in a cozy blanket, Gloria and Hormer will help you with anything you need to visit the desert, but by far the most amazing thing we did was to know the amazing work they are doing in their "Finca"to restore the vegetation and bring back the native animals.
