This loft was outstanding. We enjoyed it even more, considering it was a stormy weekend, and we often stayed inside. The breakfast was excellent, with everything you could ask for and plenty to choose from. The shower was terrific too. The hosts were amiable and professional. The place is in the heart of Monschau, so there is no chance that you will miss anything. I would love to be back in this place! Highly recommended!

A gem in Monschau’s Altstadt – peaceful, charming, and perfectly equipped We absolutely loved our stay at Refugium Altstadt. The location is ideal—right in the heart of the old town, yet peaceful. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with thoughtful amenities and incredibly comfortable beds. Everything was spotless, and the coffee machine was a real highlight! The hosts were responsive, helpful, and very polite throughout. We were especially grateful to be allowed an early check-in for a small fee, which gave us a chance to rest and recover from jet lag. A perfect stay—we would return in a heartbeat.

The hotel was ideally placed for our visit and was extremely clean and modern. The staff were extremely polite, professional and helpful, taking time to personally greet you at breakfast time. Property was beautiful and located a street behind the town square. The room was big with a very comfortable and big bed. The view was beautiful. It was very quiet at night. The bathroom was functional and we noticed the extractor fan working so well that there was no humidity at all after the shower. Only in Germany 😀. The breakfast was tasty and filling. We didn’t need extra food during the walk afterwards. The person who was around in the morning at breakfast was very friendly and welcoming.
