We stayed at Babalao bungalows for four nights and there are many reasons why I would return It is literally two minutes walk to one of the most beautiful beaches on the island The hotel is tastefully decorated and very well-maintained The Wi-Fi is exceptional which is important to people like myself who unfortunately have to continue working a couple of hours a day The breakfast is varied and generous - I personally declined a third of the choice every day One of the main features I appreciated the most was the genuine helpful advice I received from the owners Who I honestly believe do not ask for commission on any of the taxi services or excursions I say this because it was cheaper to go through the hotel than try and bargain on the beach with the numerous hawkers ! Elena And Max seem to take pride in offering a good quality of service And ensuring their guests have a pleasant stay A big thank you to all the team !

This place is absolutely amazing, a true oasis in the middle of the village. The breakfast is delicious, and the staff make everything so easy and enjoyable. The beach is just a 5-minute walk away. I would definitely recommend it and would love to come back.

Everything was excellent, as soon as I’ve crossed the gate to African Bungalow’s, I knew this bungalows have something special. Firstly I came across the owner and I’ve already felt extremely welcomed and well taken care of. All staff working there is super nice, helpful, kind and smiley. Rooms are spacious, very clean, all of them have terrace. Mine specially had pool view (if I’m not mistaken all of them are in front of the pool), so you can enter the pool straight from your terrace which is great. Fact that bungalows have pool is amazing as it gives you a chance to rest a bit from sometimes busy beach around. Walk to the beach is like 2 minutes which is huge advantage of that place also. In general location is perfect. Breakfast is excellent. Amenities in the room are great, AC works perfectly! I’m really grateful to come across this bungalows as it gave me lovely memories! I can highly recommend this place and I promise, you don’t regret staying there. I’m sure I will come back here next time :)

The accommodation exceeded my expectations with both cleanliness and service! It’s in a great location that’s walking distance to the beach and shops. Chef made me the best meals I had during my entire travelling time in Tanzania, it was local, fresh and delicious while also taking into account my allergies. Henrietta who owns it is so lovely, always going above and beyond to make the stay at comfortable as she can. She gave really good advice about the area and I would highly recommend staying here! The entire team on the property are exceptional, which is so hard to find on a small island like Zanzibar.

I’ve never experienced such a wonderful host before in any hotel. The owner runs the hotel and is present all the time helping you with everything you need. Other staff members are extremely friendly too. All facilities were very good and clean, 100% recommended.

Two minutes walk to the beach. Very clean and cozy place. Everything was perfect 🤩 We Had a wonderful time. Very friendly owner and staff. Yummy food. Clean pool,Lovely Cat and Dog. Restaurants and Shops near the resort. Big thanks to Mr.Max, you made us feel so welcome, thanks for everything. Sure We will be back to this tropical vibes stay.

To be very honest, everything. I was so happy with the guest house, it’s a very cozy place in Nungwi and you’ll definitely feel at home in Papaya. The staff is super friendly, always greets you with a smile and you can tell they’re truly willing to help! They even have a dog and a cat which adds to be homely atmosphere, they’re pets of the property and my friends loved them. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and super affordable! I’d definitely recommend.

Wonderful staff and location and WiFi. Very clean. Rooms have self controlled air conditioning and very hot water!. Free unlimited water refills and wonderful breakfast included in the price. They also have a generator so when the power goes out (which happens regularly in Africa) you still have lights and a hot water. Pool is meticulously clean. Ahmet was there during my stay and he is always available to help you and arrange anything you need. The resident cat are dog are fun too. Highly, highly recommend.
