From the moment we arrived, Daisy, the heart and soul of this place and the rest of the staff welcomed us with a warmth that went far beyond hospitality. Their care and attention to detail made us feel not just accommodated, but genuinely looked after. At times, we’d find ourselves chatting with the other family members and staff, sharing stories, or picking fresh fruit right from the trees in the garden. Each of us had our own cabin, and they were just what we needed spacious , comfortable, and open to the lush surroundings. The sounds of the ocean and the songs of the birds drifted in naturally. We especially loved reading in the hammocks just outside the cabins on the balconies, swaying gently in the afternoon breeze. The location is also perfect, just a stone’s throw from the beach, and close enough to town that we could walk in for lunch or dinner, but far enough that it still felt like a world of its own. Like being in a town away from the town. Our stay at Cabañas Iracas del Mar was more than just a holiday it felt like a journey into the heart of Nuquí’s natural beauty and the deep, quiet generosity of its people. If you’re looking for a place that offers both solitude and connection, peaceful rest and enriching excursions, this is a destination that truly has it all.

El Retoño del Negro Gozón tiene vistas al jardín y se encuentra en Nuquí. Cuenta con restaurante, cocina compartida, bar, jardín y terraza. Utterly utterly basic. Barefoot luxury without the luxury. The wooden planks which make the walls of the huts have spaces between them for ventilation. Nothing in the room except a bed (and mosquito net), a shelf and a table. Hammocks on the verandah and the sea is right there - wonderful. You get there by small boat (with outboard motor) from Nuqui - the tourist jetty is a short walk from the airport and the people where you pay your airport tax made sure we were passed into the care of someone who saw us onto the right boat. It took 50 minutes. Wear shorts - there is no jetty and you disembark by stepping off into the water. The kitchen/dining area has a low concrete wall around it and a tin roof. The food is simple but we thought it was delicious (lots of fish - ceviche, stew and grilled). The staff are lovely - friendly and helpful, and take care to speak simple Spanish to help us understand. We enjoyed whale watching from a small boat. All very simple and undeveloped. A perfect place for blissful downtime and going to sleep to the sound of the waves. Utterly utterly wonderful!

The food overall was delicious—every dish exceeded our expectations. Maya and Andrés were incredibly kind and helpful; they assisted us every step of the way. The atmosphere throughout the hotel is fantastic—warm and welcoming. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!

TORTUGA BAY Eco Hotel está en El Valle, a 2,2 km de Playa El Almejal, y dispone de alojamiento con jardín, parking privado gratis, zona de playa privada y terraza. Ofrece restaurante y bar. We did a tour to Utria National park. My expectation was entering the jungle with a nature guide to look for local animals. Instead we went on a beach tour. So be sure you explaine correctly what you expect to get the right tour. The other morning we went alone on a little path behind the hotel and managed to see a group of monkeys. So there are wild animals around. For the locals they are just so normal, they don't mention them. Among the local birds are also eagles. Same thing, locals won't mention them as special, as the are regularly seen.

Mi Cabaña El Maderal está en Capurganá y tiene jardín, salón de uso común, terraza y wifi gratis en todo el alojamiento. El alojamiento se encuentra a 5 min a pie de Playa de Capurganá. You were with family. Willie and his family were great to stay with! He had great insight on the area and things to do. Places to see. Breakfast was great in the mornings as we hung out on the balcony. Loved the hammock!! Wifi was great as long as the power was on. It’s in a rural quieter part of capurgana. You definitely get the authentic Colombian experience. We enjoyed are week stay:) I’m gonna miss it and look forward to a return visit:)

Cabañas Luna Escondida, que cuenta con jardín, restaurante, bar y wifi gratis, se encuentra en Capurganá, a 5 min a pie de Playa de Capurganá. Beautiful spot, secluded but not to far from town. Staff are so lovely 10/10. They made us breakfast really early due to our boat. Very hospitable. Lemonade on arrival was a bonus. Clean room, lots of space. Bed was comfortable. Out door shower was really nice!

Posada Nore, Nuquí está en Arusí y dispone de jardín, zona de playa privada y terraza. Algunas habitaciones del alojamiento tienen un balcón con vistas al mar. Our stay at Posada Noře was unmatched. The generous hospitality of Profe Hernando and Doña Nore was incredible. We spent many hours with our hosts being shown around, cooked for, and transported to different places on their boat. It felt like a very authentic and local experience and we were able to learn a lot about the people, history and culture of Arusí. The posada was beautifully set up and very comfortable. Thank you for an unforgettable experience.
