He was able to help us arrange transportation to/from the guesthouse and also the safari jeep. The location is very quiet despite being by the main road. It’s located some distance from the safari but still relatively close by. we managed to see the elephant and even a leopard! The room itself was clean and well planned, all the basic amenities were provided for us.

Watching animals coming and going in the garden was fun - mongoose, monkey, parrot, Bengali monitor, woodpecker, kingfisher, hornbill, etc. Two minutes walk to the lake for sunrise/sunset. Truly a gem in Anuradhapura!

The accommodation features room service, a 24-hour front desk and currency exchange for guests. I can’t rate my stay highly enough. This is my second visit here. I came back to see if I could find the elusive sloth bear and I did on my first days safari I was lucky enough to have Anton and Randy as guides. Also saw a variety of birds and a leopard walking in a distance on the road, a truly beautiful sight. Second day I went with Chamod who was an excellent spotter of birds even saw a leopard on the beach across the lake. Of course this is a National Park and you have to be lucky to see leopards and bears but the quality of the guide is a must. This is why I returned to Anton and his team. The food was excellent and bountiful. Breakfast the morning I left was a feast . Nothing is too much trouble, one evening they even arrange a birthday cake for a guest after dinner. Water is provided also there was never a problem if I wanted coffee or boiling water for my tea. Anton is passionate about wildlife and his customers, you can really feel it. At the end of my stay he even took me to the bus stop and made sure I got on the right bus. I can’t thank the team enough for another amazing 3 night stay. You can go wrong with your stay here. Excellent accommodation at a budget price.

Jeewa provided great recommendations for things to do in the area, helped organise transport, and even took me on a day trip to Pidurangala and Dambulla in his tuk tuk. The home-cooked meals by Masha were absolutely delicious — a perfect introduction to Sri Lankan cuisine. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Jeewa and Masha truly went above and beyond to take care of their guests. I would highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Habarana and the surrounding area. The owner was incredibly friendly, answered all my questions, and even offered me a welcome tea. The room and bike rental were very reasonably priced. My room was clean and comfortable, and I was even allowed to use the washing machine for free.
