Berat is know as village/ town of 1000 windows.
Berat is know as village/ town of 1000 windows. There are 2 area of the old town which are on both sides of the river. It worth just wandering the streets of both old towns. The view from the castle also gives a different perspective. A beautiful old town with so much character. Berat is fun to wander around in, with the castle on top of the hill still occupied as it was hundreds of years ago. The reason to go to Berat is the architecture and wonderful setting. Lots of good restaurant choices.Guest review byKristinUnited States - 8.0
The town had so much to see and was absolutely beautiful.
The town had so much to see and was absolutely beautiful. The Ottoman era area was preserved amazingly well, as were the other parts of the old city. There were nice stores. The old city juxtaposed well with the modern era shopping and walking street that ran along the canal and a park where the town residents were out gathering in the evening.
