It is in an ideal location about 0.5km from the sea, but with amazing views of the Cyprus country side and Troodos mountains. The gardens are beautifully kept and very pleasant on the eye. Everybody I have spoken to loves the place, although I would imagine it’s not for teenagers as the Hylatio is a little remote and not a lot goes on in the Pissouri Beach area. That said, the Hylatio does put on evening events about 3 to 4 nights a week and the bar stays open until 1am. There are some great restaurants nearby. Limassol is a large city which we didn’t expect.
Limassol is a large city which we didn’t expect. The old town is small with lots of great bars and restaurants. It is next to the marina that also has great bars and restaurants. I was expecting more people in Platres during the summer month of may but unfortunately the place looked deserted. Very few restaurants were open to have lunch and dinner, and sometimes the quality was very avarage. It was very good to discover a small medieval town away from mass tourists who are only there to sunbathe. We were interested in learning the history of Cyprus, Lofou offered other aspects of Cyprus other than the sea, swim and sun. Omodos is a beautiful village with lots of nice wineries near by. It can get busy with coach parties but that is to be expected. Most restaurants and cafes close early evening so not a great deal to do in the evening. Wear comfy shoes as there is a lot of walking round all the narrow streets but it is so worth it. Agros village is a perfect place to escape from busy city life for a couple of days and to enjoy the tranquility of traditional village lifestyle, walk the narrow streets, with beautiful , authentic architecture, meet locals, try local food and of course to recharge yourself with nature and mountain sceneries. Potamitissa itself doesn’t have things to do. However, villages such as Pelendri, Agros, Kyperounta are near by and have plenty of things to do.
