FijiLarissa was so friendly and accommodating. She greeted us when we arrived and showed us around the villa. We also enjoyed using the pool and Larissa went out of her way to give us extra towels and made us feel very comfortable at her place. We especially loved the cleanliness of the villa and how she had everything in it, self contained and we loved that the bedroom had aircon and fans in every room. She also suggested a great place for breakfast and she also farewelled us when we checked out the next day. Great value for your money, you will not be disappointed.

When we got inside, we had a very warm welcome from the staff and were treated intimately and personally, a trend which continued throughout our stay. Each day was as relaxing or adventurous as we wished, with easy to engage with daily activities or the ability to stay secluded in our private villa. The staff were all extremely polite and helpful, and made every effort so we could stay unstressed. The food was excellent, especially the integration of local crops in innovative new ways such as cassava mash. Being able to select ahead of time was an efficient way of not having to think later in the day. Our villa was kept in great condition by staff, and we were supplied with everything we needed to be comfortable. Situated on a hill (400m), where a 4WD is required this place is breathtaking. Savusavu is a great location for a peaceful holiday, giving to a more traditional Fijian experience with less resorts on the island. The market is a great for self catering or just absorbing the atmosphere, especially early on Sat when the fish market is there too. The people are very friendly and fun to be around, as you walk down the street you are constantly greeted warmly with Bula! Definitely make the effort to venture across to Savusavu—it’s far more picturesque than Fiji’s main island. Getting around is a breeze: you can hop on local buses, grab a taxi, or simply wave down a friendly local for a ride (just agree on the fare beforehand). The people are incredibly welcoming and helpful—they’ll happily arrange any activity you fancy, and you’ll feel the rich Fijian culture everywhere. We even attended a Sunday singing service in the local church—it was breathtaking to hear the harmonies and feel the community spirit firsthand. Scruffy little town (and scruffy island) with not a lot for tourists. I have much preferred staying in the Mamanuca Island chain - cuter islands, more of a holiday feel and better snorkelling than what we experienced here.
