- From US$1,324 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,044 reviewsThe place is beautiful with a great variety of places for family members to swim and play. We were varied age groups and there was something for all. Loved the river beach at the resort particularly. The service was exceptional. Everyone was so pleasant and helpful everywhere we went. We loved the food. Lots of options at the buffet. The Brazilian steakhouse was so much fun and delicious food. Trajinero was also excellent -- especially with Franky, our wonderful server who made the evening special. Best of all was the fusion restaurant. Sushi heaven! Thank you to Eleanor! The little ones also enjoyed the Teppanyaki dinner with the knife juggling and fire displays. Guest services was very helpful setting up all of our reservations in the weeks before our trip. My son surprised the ladies with spa treatments Mulak and the massage was one of the best I've had. I wish I caught the name of the woman who did the treatment (Patrice??). She was excellent and the ambience of the place really adds to the experience. We also enjoyed the parks and went to the three close ones - Xcaret, Xenses, and Xplor and had fun at all. The included shuttles came more frequently than the 20 minutes advertised -- a welcome surprise. It was a pleasure to have everything included -- transportation from the minute you land until the last trip to the airport, food and lockers at most parks.Guest review byIleneUnited States

I had a great full body massage on the beach with the hotel.
I had a great full body massage on the beach with the hotel. They had an offer ... it was worth every penny with the sound of the beach as a background noise. Just perfect!! I stayed at the hotel for all meals - nice and diverse options. Was not fan of anything that was served at the snack bar though.Guest review byNADIAUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We love this hotel. Just a short walk to a fantastic beach. They let us borrow two folding beach chairs and they supply beach towels. We stayed in Apartment #7. It was quite large, amply cooking supplies in the kitchen, clean and comfortable. We will return.Guest review byJonathanUnited States - 8.0

There are numerous sites to see in Merida, so book a stay that allows enough time to go on a few tours. I enjoyed the horse and carriage ride in the night - have a translator if your Spanish isn't good.Guest review byIfasinaBelize - 10.0
Antigua is a great location to get a taste of Guatemala.
Antigua is a great location to get a taste of Guatemala. It is easily accessible by private or collective vans from the Guatemala City airport. It is a very safe place to visit for single women or tourists traveling for the first time to Guatemala. The city is very walkable but be aware that the traffic in the streets has the right of way, so be careful stepping off the curb to cross the street. I love walking the streets and visiting the old church ruins. The Markets are full of local goods from Guatemalan artisans. If you have time the local interior market is an adventure worth exploring. The area has a multitude of great restaurants and places to eat. It's a good place to spend a few days, or just use it as a stop on your way to other parts of Guatemala.Guest review byGailUnited States - 2.0

As a family with tweens we did not enjoy Tulum & will not be back. The kids were not allowed many places/ restaurants. Algea covered the beach (it was july), the restaurants were priced higher than where we live but the quality of the food was poor. If you are a family I would skip and go elsewhere. The cenotes in the reason are awesome!Guest review byCaralynUnited States - 10.0

Safer than the last time I went to Guatemala - about 25 yrs ago- . A lot of non tourist places to explore. Beautiful country side. The only tourist area I explored were Antigua, lake atitlan, Flores which are well suited for tourist, with all the services they might desire. Other parts of the country some level of spanish is required. I spent 7 months traveling mostly northern part of Guatemala, only seeing a fraction of what the country has to offer to travelers.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Check out the two light shows at the downtown church and the ex-convent. Both, unfortunately start at 9pm so you might have to catch them at two different times. For more affordable food options, don't bother eating at the Calzada de los Frailes restaurants. Most places are overpriced!Guest review byHugoUnited States - 10.0

It’s a tiny town, best to get around with a car but taxis are available too. It has a proper Caribbean vibe and the lagoon is just fantastic - really clean, warm and sweet water. We also enjoyed the food at La Playita restaurant.Guest review byKlaudiaPoland - 10.0

The town is charming, the restaurants serving local cuisine are delightful and the summer climate is amazing. 15 degrees at night and 22 or so during the day with no humidity. There are many activities in or near San Cristobal and we enjoyed the local parks at Arcotete and Grutas del Mamut. Our dogs were able to run off-leash and explore the forest. We spent a month at a Spanish language school (San Cris) which was a wonderful place to improve our language skills.Guest review byDonaldMexico - 2.0
Small town with terrible infrastructure.
Small town with terrible infrastructure. It is a shame to keep it in misery conditions with the loads of money brought by tourists, mostly foreigners happily walking in mud, dirty water ponds, as they walk in the luxurious boutiques owned by other foreigners. You may find amazing nature in many other Mexican destinations in better living conditions.Guest review byalejandrortizMexico
