- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 338 reviewsThis was my second time here within 14 months, so my expectations were pretty high after last year's excellent experiences. It was a bit like coming back home here and the familiarity of the surroundings has made our stay again very spacial. It was great to see that the amenities were still in top shape and well maintained, despite the climatic elements (heat, wind, erosion) buildings in this area have to brave. The most memorable aspect of staying here nevertheless is interacting with the staff, who go over and beyond to make you feel comfortable, pampered, and entertained. A big thank you goes out to them, as they are really the heart and soul of this place.Guest review byGeorges08Austria

Driving to the property was great experience - came in the sundowner. The breakfast and evening buffet - high quality food. Fresh food, excellent barbacue, salads, and their home-made ice cream. Good service by people who worked at the property. Friendly bartenders. Extraordinary sundowner with the guide from Desert Grace - our guide was highly skilled on the animals, friendly and chill person.Guest review byKari-AnneNorway

- From US$265.34 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 829 reviewsWith two watering holes next to each other, it is actually mind blowing that there are so many animals so close by. Especially the 6 rhinos including 2 babies and the friendly zebra Nina. Great team, shout out to John, and although a bit far from Sossusvlei, well worth the drive as you can spend a lot of time by the pool or under the tree 'animal gazing'. Highly recommended.Guest review byNeeraAustralia

What a beautiful place my goodness.
What a beautiful place my goodness. So much to do in the area - we would have definitely stayed longer to try out the different activities. Climbing the dunes at Sossusvlei was honestly the best day. It was beautiful and I can’t wait to be back!Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

We stayed in this location mainly to visit Sossusvlei which is further south. Solitaire itself is a charming but tiny settlement - only a few buildings and a petrol station, however it has an amazing cafe serving "the world's best apple pie" and it was! Solitaire is about a 20 minute drive from Soft Adventure Camp at the Namib Naukluft Lodge.Guest review byJulietAustralia - 8.0

It was busy but still private enough not to spoil the overnight stay. The staff were very helpful in the shop. It was useful to have the fuel station as well. The supplies in the shop were adequate for the overnight stay and the location was convenient for Sossusvlei. The drive into Sossusvlei was fine but very crowded when we got to Deadvlei. Well worth a visit though.Guest review byFionaZimbabwe - 10.0

We stayed at the Desert Camp, not far from the park entrance...
We stayed at the Desert Camp, not far from the park entrance gate. It was an easy drive to the park, and the 60km of wonderful tarred road to the 2 wheel drive car park. This gives access to Dig Daddy dune and Deadvlei. From here the park vehicle took us to Big Momma dune, and also goes to Hidden Vlei. All very easy. Dune 45 is 45 km along the road. The bus cost 180 Namibian dollars in October 2023. Wear runners to climb the dunes and walk to Deadvlei. Har, sunglasses and water are essential. We ate at the restaurant inside the park gate. Good and affordable. We bought our water at the shop there. Breakfast at the Sossusvlei Lodge was good too. I would recommend paying extra for tyre and glass insurance when picking up your rental car. Prior to coming to Sesriem, we had a flat tyre far from anywhere and Hertz directed us to a lodge with tyre repair services. We had to go on to Outjo to get the fixed tyre replaced, but the insurance made it less of a concern.Guest review byStevenIreland - 10.0
