Everything about this place met my expectations! There is plenty parking in the resort so no need to worry where to leave your car during the stay. Train station to Štrbske Pleso is nearby so we almost didn't need to move the car at all. We were very warmly welcomed with glasses of prosecco :) The rooms were very clean and spacious, towels, bathrobes and toiletries were provided. Spa area is clean and we enjoyed using it (pool, kids pool, jacuzzi, 3 saunas, relax area), also massages are available. We had breakfast and dinner included and there were plenty options to choose from for both, especially the dinner was diverse so no fear from getting bored and eating the same every day. I would especially compliment the staff, everyone is very friendly, accommodating, kind and helpful.

Verry helpfull staff, always smiling. There was no problem with leaving the car early in the morning on the check in day. Swimming pool and sauna operating until 10 pm, which was great after a long hike. The same with the restaurant - open until 10pm, there was no need to rush things. We had a verry tasty dinner, and again- staff was verry nice and helpfull (really loved the garlic soup with toasties). No problem with VISA payment (hotel as well as the restaurant). Breakfast - again, no reason to complain. Nice selection available. I'd recomend and probably will come back. Regards 😊

Absolutely everything is new, elegant, and furnished with great attention to detail. The wellness area is wonderful – with pool, saunas, and excellent natural cosmetics. I especially appreciated the very thoughtful, caring and warm staff, and a big THANKS to the hotel director Mrs. Brezinová for her sensitive and supportive help and her goodwill during check-in. We sincerely had the time of our lives at the hotel and in Stary Smokovec. The hotel has an incredible team that organises activities for kids literally all day long. My 5-year-old loved the games, plays, and all sorts of fun. The hotel offers a fantastic range of amenities for children, including a fun pool area, bouncy castle, playroom, cinema, ping pong tables, bowling, and probably even more! And to top it all off, there was popcorn for the little ones and champagne for the adults served at the reception area every day.This is easily one of the best family hotels you could visit. The breakfast and dinner were exceptional—my wife and I absolutely loved the food! I could go on and on about how wonderful our stay was. A huge thank you to all the amazing staff at the hotel who took such great care of us! We can't wait to see you again next year.

A Hidden Gem in Tatranská Lomnica This hotel is a true delight — exceptionally clean, modern, and cozy, with an unbeatable location. I’ve stayed here multiple times, and each visit reaffirms my appreciation for the place. It feels less like a hotel and more like a museum or a palace, beautifully preserved and thoughtfully designed. The breakfasts are excellent, and in the evening, the on-site restaurant and bar provide the perfect setting to unwind. A stroll through the surrounding park, breathing in the fresh mountain air, completes the experience. Everything about this place is just right. Highly recommended.

Beautiful hotel, great location, nearby all points of interest. The pool is great, heated (33-34 degrees), there's both a small indoor and a bigger outdoor playground which was really great for the kids. The room was massive with beautiful views of forests and mountains. Everything was spotless. The food choice is not massive but the quality is top notch and the menu changes daily which was really nice. Highly recommended for a nature-first holiday with kids. Having bathrobes waiting in the room exactly the size for our kids was a beautiful touch.

Mostly everything. We knew this hotel from 40 years ago when my grandparents stayed there. It was a fancy hotel back then and although it aged, they managed to revamp it in a way that it is a very good value for money. The wellness section has so much variety we could spend the whole day there. Room is spacious and comfortable. Other facilities like kids club and bowling are great addition for families with kids. Location is fantastic, all the main hiking routes pass by the hotel, we didn't even take the car out most days.

Perfect location for exploring the High Tatra mountains.

Perfect location for exploring the High Tatra mountains. Very close to restaurants and attractions. Our top tips for attractions within half an hour drive from Smokovce: - Bachledova TreeTop walk - Walk around Strbske Lake - Strednica Parking Photo Point. FREE. A hidden gem. Best views of the Tatra Mountains. Walk down to the 2 lakes. - Hrebienok funicular and Ladovy Dom (this was closed for maintenance but we heard great things about it). Top tip for the most overrated and expensive attraction (i.e. not recommended): Mount Lomnicky Stit cable car by Tatranska Lomnica (we got a return ticket to Skalnate Pleso). Best restaurant in Smokovce: Manuel Caffe & Bistro Italian restaurant.

Amazing town - easy to reach popular hiking spots, mountain...

Amazing town - easy to reach popular hiking spots, mountain lift in town, great nature museum (really recommend it for a rainy or a lazy day) in general good atmosphere and friendly people. We loved the nature and mountains, but also enjoyed that after a hike you could visit one of many restaurants or bars and enjoy a nice evening. We would recomend starting the day early - parking lots near most popular hike tracks fill up quickly, but honestly everywhere you turn nature looks amazing. If you decide to visit the mines be warned that tour is in slovakian and polish languages - no information was said in english and qr code near mine entrance with info was just like reading a history book and it was hard to understand where we are during the tour as we scrambled to see which part to read. If you can catch it we strongly recommend dinner and star wathing on mountain top - it was SO NICE - completely worth it for just getting on the mountain after dark, but also food was surprisingly good and they had live music. Tickets are sold by gopass and it happens rarely, but it shouldn't be missed given the oportunity. Oh and if you come by car seeing Unesco heritage castle is a must - just about 40 min drive, but so worth it. Be warned though it was also a bit of a hike so comfortable clothes and shoes are recommended.

I was up in the mountains so didn't see much of the towns. I got the little train up from Stary Smokoviec and went for shopping in Strbske Pleso. Neither town appeals to me but Popradske Pleso is gorgeous. One of my favourite places in the Tatras.

The place is just beautifull, mountains are greal I love it in different time of the year. Transport is great however if you are paying for cable cars it can get expensive but simillary you will pay the price in different countries. If skying it is worth booking the passes in advance as it saves a lot of money.

Tatranska Strba is less than a ten minute drive from Strbske...

Tatranska Strba is less than a ten minute drive from Strbske pleso, but it's much less crowded. There is also a cog railway that runs through the area up to Strbske pleso, which is an alternative to driving. There isn't a lot of commercial activity in Tatranska Strba, but there is one small grocery store and a few restauarants, one of which (Koliba Zerucha) is quite good. Probably best to have a car while you're here.

Comfy beds, new furniture -- it is freshly reconstructed so it will be very nice for close future. Unfortunately, as it is with many other hostels, cleanness in bathrooms is hard to keep. But nothing unusual from (public) high-school toilets or so. So, do not expect 4 star hotel, more like 2-3 star one :)

Due to recent property developments, Smokovce are no longer the quaint, picturesque village it used to be. It got more crowded and noisier. Nevertheless, compared to Štrbske Pleso or Tatranska Lomnica, it is a good choice for a holiday in the High Tatras.

It is a very beautiful village.

It is a very beautiful village. It is reallly nice when it doesn't rain because you can see nice view of the mountain, lots of greenery and some very good hiking trails. The cable car ride is fun, however the cable car from Skalnate Pleso to Lomnicky Stit broke down the 24 hours that i was there. I didn't get a chance to ride the last stage of the cable car up to the top of Lomnicky Stit.

My 3rd time in High Tatra' and decided to stay for a month...

My 3rd time in High Tatra' and decided to stay for a month this time and loving it! Too many peeks to climb 😉. Very well marked trails with beautiful nature. Plenty of high peeks to climb although for some certified guide is required. And don't be fooled that the highest peeks are not as high as in the alps...it is very hard work and training is required to be able to climb them. Definitely a contender to Alps
