Block out curtains very effective. Plenty of car parking. Good security. Now stayed twice and will go back. Excellent value for money. Good breakfast. No lift but it wasn’t an issue for me. Restaurant at night is not open. Plenty of traditional Thai restaurants, coffee shops and laundromats in walking distance. Staff recommended Farang restaurants which were excellent but have to take a taxi or drive. One restaurant recommended was “Ricco Caf” which is one of the best I’ve ever been to in Thailand. I really appreciated the tours you could organize via the hotel. The hotel location is very convenient to visit the natural parks nearby and to enable onwards travel to Pakse, Laos. Ubon is a nice city if you have plenty of time traveling...
Ubon is a nice city if you have plenty of time traveling around. Rent a motorbike or navigate by taxi in the city (cheap and they turn on the meter). Some nice places to visit for one or two days. For shopping it's a good city as well.Guest review byDon - 10

It's a large town and we barely scrathed the surface in 2.5 days there. Great temples, quirky converted shops downtown and quite a few interesting bars. Not many western expats and/or tourists around, but that just added to the genuine feel of the place. We drove out to Pha Taem national park to view the 3000 year old cliff painting overlooking the Mekong River. Would definitely recommend doing that. We will be looking into some of the other national parks in the area, next time we're in town. Oh and we were there in late October and were pleasantly surprised at how cool if was, especially afer dark. Very refreshing!Guest review byThomasUnited Kingdom
