The house was located in the first floor of the villa. It was huge and very spacious. The house had all the essential facilities for a comfortable stay. The location is about 20 minutes drive from city center, yet we loved the serenity of the place. Short walk to the main road, with a supermarket barely 200 metres away and lots of fruits and vegetable vendors nearby. The house felt very safe and we loved the privacy we enjoyed. The manager of the villa Mr. Saman was super friendly and always available for any assistance. Overall it was an amazing stay and we loved it so much. Highly recommended!

Amazingly spacious property. So clean and comfortable with beautiful views of the mountains. Washing machine was very useful as well as the fully functional kitchen. Hosts were so lovely and helpful. Would recommend staying here to anyone travelling to Kandy!

The view was great! There always was good strong hot water. There is very good breakfast (you can choose European or Sri Lankan traditional. I had European breakfast and it was really good). The owner also helped to organise transport for reasonable price and gave some valuable advice on the places to visit including one not touristic old temple which was very exciting to see). It is better than in the city centre, more peaceful place. You need tuk tuk to go to centre, but price is not expensive, no problem. I can definitely recommend this place. I also recommended this place to new friends who i met during my travels. They stayed in the place after me and texted me later that they really enjoyed this place too.

A cool and relaxing place in the hills but only 10 mins by tuk-tuk from the city, up narrow and winding roads which add to the feeling of 'getting away from it all'. Very friendly and helpful staff. A member of staff who drives the property's tuk-tuk also built much of the garden and is rightfully proud of it. Beautiful living room and bedroom. Excellent views over the hills. Massive local breakfast.

Special mention goes to the reservation manager, Mr. Sashika, who went above and beyond by offering complimentary transportation to the train station - a thoughtful gesture we weren’t expecting! Overall Experience: ★★★★★ Kandy River Lodge exceeded our expectations in every way. The serene riverside setting provided the perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway. Despite its unassuming exterior, the interior experience was outstanding. Final Thoughts This hotel offers a surprisingly tranquil experience that you wouldn’t anticipate from the outside. The combination of the beautiful location, comfortable accommodations, and exceptional service made for a memorable stay.
