The owner was amazing. He gave us recommendations for our visit, and was extremely generous with giving us rides here and there as well as making sure we didn't have to carry our luggage around all day even though we weren't going to be staying at his guesthouse another night. It was clean and cute and the breakfast was DIVINE (there was no coffee, so BYO if you need)

This onsen hotel is a pearl if u like traditional Japanese style stay, and we enjoyed the most. It's spotless clean and cosy. The private onsen room is huge. And the dinner is way out of our expectation.(please do have dinner here)! We loved the in suite onsen. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. Loved how the outdoor hot spring allows people with tattoos. Monkey park shuttle was a huge help, leaving at 9:30 AM and returning at noon.

We were incredibly well looked after by Yoko, who took care of us and provided an exceptional service. Very hospitable. Also, other staff including our day driver Toko were all wonderful and took care of us and made our stay extra special.

Super easy to find, a short walk from the station. There were free pastries and drinks available on arrival. Later on, there seemed to be free alcoholic drinks and snacks available in the dining room. It was help yourself with no staff in sight...unless I misunderstood something?!? The hotel and room had a great view of the town and surrounding mountains and was easy to reach from both the snow monkey park and Nagano. The room was very large and futon beds were comfortable. We also tried the onsen, which was great and completely empty! We tried to gave dinner there but were told we had to have reserved ahead of time. Not sure how we would have done that.
