Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, Mojacar is a medieval Moorish, town in the Spanish Province of Almería. This white-walled destination, which is situated on a rocky hillside at the foot of the Sierra de Cabrera, will surprise you with its natural beauty and unique architecture.

Rich in history and cultural heritage, Mojacar has been populated since the 2000 BC by Moors, Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians and Romans. Today, it is a maze of narrow streets with local shops, street markets and restaurants serving traditional dishes like the ancient 'gachas'.

Travellers can park their car and explore the old town of this beautiful resort on foot.  Home to 17 km of Blue Flag sandy beaches like Granatilla, the Playa de los Genoveses and the Playa de Monsul, the modern part of this coastal resort is an ideal place to enjoy outdoor activities like swimming, sailing and surfing. Golf lovers can visit the 18-hole courses of the Marina Golf and Desert Springs.

Almería Airport is about 55 km from Mojacar and has flights to big cities like London, Brussels and Barcelona. Check the Booking.com deals and choose from a variety of hotels, apartments and guest houses in Mojacar or the nearby cities of Vera and Carboneras.

A beautiful coastal resort with lots of various eating places, bars and shops for tourist. Although we were on half board we ate out some lunchtimes further into Mojacar Playa. Very easy to get around as there are plenty of buses going to various places and lots of free car parking spaces. There really is nothing that is untoward in Mojacar only thing I can think of is the beach further up towards the town has a big drop into the sea and not really suitable for children.

A beautiful setting completely turned over to tourism. Beachfront section is super developed and too lengthy to walk. Are those hotels all-inclusives? The lack of private restaurants and supermarkets would indicate so.

Fantastic views. Not many (or any ?) eating places open early on Saturday evening in late November, but I was told sometimes they open up later on. If relying on this for a meal it's worth checking in advance. But it's an attractive settlement with impressive panoramic scenic views.

    1. The front desk rep., Nehuen that helped us each day was fantastic!' He was always smiling and more than willing to help us with our questions/needs. He really made our stay a wonderful experience. Thank you Nehuen!! 2. The view from the room was wonderful... peaceful and relaxing. Enjoyed the sunrise in the mornings and sunsets in the evenings on the terrace, which was very good size! 3. We liked that the hotel is located at the end of Mojacar... less traffic and quiet! We loved the property, it was a last minute get away, it couldn’t have been any better, the hotel, gardens and especially the rooms totally exceeded our expectations, even having individual pillows which are not a common thing in Spain. The check-in was flawless and very professional, the information we received regarding our stay was precise, the staff were wonderful and the breakfast which was included in the price was more than enough for us both. We will definitely be booking another stay.

Open the door from the room and there's the beach! It's a hotel from the 80s so isn't decorated in a modern style by any means, but that pales completely into insignificance when you consider the beachfront location, the service from Paca, the owner and the breakfast (continental). All this for just over 40€. I'll definitely be back there.

The view was spectacular and the location unbeatable. It is a rural house at the top of the village of Mojacar, so you will feel like you are in a castle. Do not expect luxurious or high end facilities, but rustic charm and historical beauty --hard to match the location and views! What a unique property Mirador del Castillo is! Worth it!

The large apartment was centrally located. It was blocks from the cathedral, markets and restaurants. We had to park 2 blocks away in a parking garage. Because it is situated in the old town the cobblestone streets are narrow and parking was impossible. The apartment was equipped with air conditioning, kitchen and living area.
